MIAMI (GaeaTimes.com)- A reputed media source recently reported that a lady attorney named Brittney Horstman was not allowed to enter the Miami Federal Detention Center due to her bra. The report claimed that the guards of the Miami Federal Detention Center did not allow Brittney Horstman to enter the building after the underwire in her bra set off the metal detector alarms. Being barred by the guards, Brittney Horstman went to the washroom and removed her bra. She came out of the washroom without wearing a bra and was able to pass through the metal detector successfully. However, the guards still did not allow her to meet her client as she was then not in the proper prison dress code that has been specified by the Center.

The rule set by the Center for the prison dress code bars woman from entering the prison building without wearing a bra but does not forbid the use of underwire bra. Women are forbidden from entering the prison complex wearing any such dress that is sexually provocative and suggestive which includes low-cut blouses and see-through dress materials. After hearing what Brittney Horstman had to face at the Miami Federal Detention Center, the public defender’s chief assistant Michael Caruso reportedly marked the incident as “regrettable and unfortunate” that appears to him as an “aberration”.

Brittney Horstman had reportedly brought the matter to the notice of the warden of the prison Linda McGrew. The warden had conducted an inquiry into the matter and had promised that such a kind of mistake would not be repeated again by the prison guards. The guards in question have however declined to comment on the matter.
