CALIFORNIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The residents of Carmichael in California had an unexpected and rather hilarious brush with wild life in the weekend. Two wild zebras ran randomly for at least 5 hours on the streets in the Northern California suburb. The animals were being loaded in a truck on Saturday. It has been reported that the animals were disturbed by the dogs barking in nearby road and started hopping wildly. They reportedly ran in the opposite direction. Needless to say the residents of the region were amused and surprised at the same time seeing the wild animals running freely. The two zebras got estranged when they were busy running in the streets. One of the zebra sustained minor injuries after a car hit the animal. The other animal was later found in the pool of an apartment.

The deputies of the Sacramento County sheriff had a hard time in controlling the wild animals. However, they were finally able to control the two animals and return them to their owner Michael Mustagni. The lady whose car had hit the zebra apparently could not believe that she had hit a wild animal in city street. The second zebra was caught by the residents.

The owner of the two runaway wild zebras Michael Mustagni is an animal trainer and professional cowboy. He said that he was worried when the duo escaped. However, he was assured when he found that the injury caused to one of the animals was not a major one. He was also thankful to the residents for their help and co operation in controlling and returning the animals to him.
