Colo. woman accused of making 48 false 911 calls
GREELEY, Colo. — Sheriff’s officials arrested a woman suspected of making up to 48 false distress calls to 911 in a four-month period. The woman, 44, was arrested Friday on suspicion of attempting to influence a public servant, false reporting and resisting arrest.
Sheriff’s officials said a caller using a prepaid mobile phone would say she was going to kill herself or have officers shoot her. Other times she reported her mother had a heart attack and wasn’t breathing. Emergency responders were never able to find the woman in the spots where she said she was.
Sheriff’s officials said they arrested the woman with help from a phone company.
