Alaskan dies in fall in snow while smoking

FAIRBANKS, Alaska — A woman found dead in her yard at Fairbanks apparently went outside for a smoke and fell in the snow.

Alaska state troopers say 51-year-old Sherri Bouton was unresponsive when she was found Wednesday morning and likely died of exposure.

Temperatures in Fairbanks hit a low of minus-2 degrees Wednesday.
