ATLANTA (GaeaTimes.com)- A circus Zebra brought the highway of Atlanta to a stand still on Thursday afternoon. The zebra belongs to the Ringling Brothers and also Barnum & Bailey Circus which has come to the town for a week. According to the spokesperson of the circus, the zebra who is named Lima was exercising and rehearsing outside the downtown arena for the evening show when it got startled by something. Lima then started running before the trainer could control and pacify the animal. Lima was blocked by the fencing at first but managed to squeeze the body out of an opening.

The whole of the Atlanta highway was then witness to a circus which had come down to the road. People sitting inside their cars witnessed six police cars and many policemen chasing the zebra and the animal running towards the direction of the interstate highway. The trainer along with the policemen had to continue their pursuit for more than 40 minutes before they could get hold of the zebra. All the roads leading towards the southbound lane was blocked and then the policemen managed to bring him to a passage where Lima’s trainer tamed the animal.

What exactly was the cause of the zebra getting excited has not been found yet. But the rampant run over the busy highway kept the police busy for a short period as they had to pursue Lima for more than 1.6 km. It is reported that the circus owns some elephants too who are being kept in the parking lot of the downtown Atlanta.
