A boy declared “dead” by the doctors and his “mortal remains” subsequently flowed in river Ganga returned home today, bringing sudden joy to the family members.
The bizarre incident took place at a remote village in Bhagalpur district of Bihar state, located in eastern India.
Family members said they had flowed the “body” of their seven year-old boy Amit Kumar in the holy river Ganga in 1997 after the doctors declared him dead of snakebite.
But, some saints in West Bengal found sensation in the body caught stuck in river bushes while they were taking bath and admitted him to a local hospital. He survived later.
“I was told by my rescuers that I remained in coma for about six months”, Amit who has since then himself turned a saint told media persons at his ancestral village in Bhagalpur today.
“My joy knows no bound as I have got my son whose body I myself flowed in the river”, exclaimed his father Naresh Paswan.
His mother said she identified her son by seeing a deep mark near his ear.
Last month, a woman in Bihar had come alive on her funeral pyre while the wailing family members were preparing to lit the funeral pyre.
