Barat comes, bride ‘goes’

A bride waiting in the wings to be married soon died shortly after the marriage procession reached her home in Bihar.

The bizarre incident took place at Shiva village under Andharatharhi block in north Bihar’s Madhubani district on Wednesday afternoon.

Reports said the marriage of 19-year-old Jaimoon Khatoon, close of a tailor Abdul Hafij, was to be solemnised with a local youth on Wednesday.

However, no sooner did the groom family reached the bride’s house with the marriage procession than she died, forcing the groom to return empty-handed.

Reports said the bride was suffering from fever for the last three days and just before the marriage procession reached her house, she had been administered saline but she collapsed.
