Professor becomes lawyer to get justice for his family

A college professor in Bihar quit his teaching job and rather studied law to become a lawyer to make the roaming criminals go to jail.
Officials said Lalan Kumar Patel who was a professor of philosophy at local Birchand Memorial College in Muzaffarpur district quit his teaching job and did LLB to let seven murderers of his kin go to jail.
Reports said the professor constantly struggled for about 18 years for justice and won in the end.
The court has sentenced life imprisonment to seven accused involved in murdering professor’s family.
Police said armed the criminals had shot dead a close kin of the professor and injured several of his family members over a petty dispute on July 21, 1992.
Reports said the professor moved from pillar to post to get justice but no one took any interest in his case until he himself became a lawyer and fought his case on his own in the court.
