Officials paint schools pink to please their boss

Authorities in an eastern Indian state are painting school buildings pink to greet their boss.
All school buildings in the Patna district of Bihar are being painted pink in the hope that it will please chief minister Nitish Kumar who has gone on month-long visit to the countryside to woo the villagers ahead of state assembly elections.
The chief minister went on his tour on Tuesday last, accompanied with ministers, party colleagues and officials.
“We are painting the school buildings pink since it has soothing impact”, district superintendent of education, Patna, Shashi Bhushan Rai said today.
Earlier, the authorities had painted a district town pink in the hope that it would restore peace and promote communal brotherhood.
