San Francisco (GaeaTimes.com) Bao Xishun is currently the tallest living man in the world recognized by the Guinness World Records as Ukrainian Leonid Stadnyk has refused to be measured under new guidelines. Leonid Stadnyk claims to be a towering 8 ft 5 inches tall. He is taller than Bao Xishun measuring in at 8 ft 1 inch tall but Stadnyk is not the holder of the official title of the world’s tallest man as he has refused to be independently measured by Guinness World Records’ Adjudicators.
Bao Xishun is a herdsman from Inner Mongolia, China. He was claimed to have been of normal height until he was sixteen years old. At that age, he suddenly experienced a growth spurt for unknown reason. He reached his present height seven years later. He served in People’s Liberation Army for three years and played in Army Basketball team. He was discharged from army as he became suffering from rheumatism. He was offered the job of a greeter at a restaurant. This was the time when he gained attention from the media and he was applied for Guinness World Records for the title of tallest man in the world.
Bao Xishun has also done a few odd jobs like assisting the veterinarians with his gifted potential. In December, 2006 two dolphins had accidentally swallowed the shards which caused loss of appetite and depression. Veterinarians failed to remove them and Bao Xishun was called for to use his 1.06 meters long arms to reach the dolphins stomachs and remove the plastics manually. He also appeared on the eleventh episode of The Amazing Race as the pitstop greeter which was aired on May 2nd 2010.
