Md. gov will display lobsters to warn the Colts

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley will display the lobsters he won in a “friendly wager” on football last weekend as a warning to the Indianapolis Colts.

O’Malley won the crustaceans from Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick after the Baltimore Ravens bested the New England Patriots on Sunday.

His staff says they’ll be displayed at Max’s Taphouse in Fells Point on Saturday. The Ravens face the Colts that night.

O’Malley spokesman Shaun Adamec says the governor wants “to make sure the Colts remember what happened last week when an overconfident New England team faced the underdog Ravens.” The Ravens won 33-14.

In O’Malley’s bet with Indiana’s Mitch Daniels, the losing governor will display the opposing team’s flag on his official vehicle next week.
