Man allegedly robs pharmacy, puts cash on counter
COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Police in northern Idaho arrested a robber accused of demanding a controlled drug from a pharmacy, then throwing cash on the counter before fleeing. Kootenai County Sheriff Lt. Stu Miller said a 39-year-old man was arrested Tuesday.
Police questioned the man at his Twin Lakes home Tuesday after getting a tip from a church pastor. He was being held in the county jail and expected to appear in 1st District Court Wednesday.
Investigators said a man went to the prescription counter at a Hayden-area Walgreens Monday night and asked the pharmacist for a drug. When told he needed a prescription, police said the man told the pharmacist he was robbing her.
After the clerk handed over the drug, police said the robber tossed some money on the counter and walked out.
