Man arrested after firing shotgun at his own fence
MANDEVILLE, La. — A 41-year-old man faces felony charges after firing a shotgun at the fence around his home to “blow off steam” after an argument with his wife. Mandeville police spokesman Eric Gulino said officers were called to the home Sunday after neighbors reported hearing gunshots from the property.
The Times-Picayune reported the man told police he had been in an argument with his wife and had fired at his own fence to relieve his anger.
No one was injured by the shots and the only property the man damaged was his own, but police booked him with illegally discharging a weapon and aggravated criminal damage to property, which are both felonies. He also was booked with disturbing the peace.
