Hapless villagers in eastern Indian state of Bihar have taken recourse to mosquito nets to escape wrath of a special species of insects which have raided their village.

Officials have said the insects remain stuck around an old tree at Raudi Pokhar village in Vaishali district of Bihar during the day hours but once the darkness falls they began entering the houses.

“We find insects everywhere soon after darkness and have been preparing food inside the mosquito nets since there is no way out”, said Chumman Singh, a villager.

The villagers said they used every method to get rid of them and even sprinkled pesticide to kill them but to no avail.

“We are sending a medical team to study the situation”, the local district magistrate, vaishali Mohammad Minhaj Alam told reporters today.
