WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND (GaeaTimes.com)- 15 year old Olivia O’Neal lost her title of Miss Teen Wanganui after a spat on Facebook with the organizer of the pageant. The pageant organizer, Barbara Osbourne expressed shock over the dyed hair that was evident in the photos of Olivia O’Neal which led her to ask whether it was a wig. The gutsy teenager went on to say that if she did not have the choice of choosing her own hair color then pageant life might not be for her. The exchange led to the teenager handing back the crown to the pageant organizers and also starting a controversy that involves the bad treatment of the pageant competitors.

Olivia O’Neal has also alleged that Barbara Osbourne was very harsh during the pageant with the girls. According to the teenager, she was always yelling at them and asking them to put on lots of make up. While handing over the crown, Barbara Osbourne had also said that she would not go far in this world because of her attitude. Barbara Osbourne was reportedly upset over the change of hair color by the teenager because she felt that it changed the image of Olivia O’Neal and the pageant also had some expectations from her that she failed to live up to.

A spokesperson for the pageant defended the decision and words of Barbara Osbourne and said that a pageant is not only about lip service and sugar coating. He added that the girls were treated the same way that other competitors in other pageants are treated. He also added that some of the mistreatment that Olivia O’Neal alleged, was an exaggeration.
